A 30-year-old man is facing several charges including kidnapping after a minivan was stolen with a 96-year-old woman still inside.

Police say the woman was sitting in the passenger seat of her vehicle around 2 p.m. on Saturday when a man got inside the driver’s seat and drove away.

The victim was taken to a bank where the suspect used her debit card to make multiple cash withdrawals.

He then left the woman in a plaza at Speers Rd. and Kerr St. in Oakville. Police say the woman was not physically hurt during the incident.

Halton Regional Police officers arrested a man a short distance away.

Nicholas Forbes, of no fixed address, has been charged with kidnapping, breach probation, and two counts of robbery.
