Man charged in suspicious death of woman found injured on Ancaster road

Police have charged a Hamilton man in connection with the suspicious death of a woman who was found critically injured in the middle of an intersection near Redeemer University Wednesday morning.
Officers responded shortly before 6:30 a.m. to the area of Kitty Murray Lane and Garner Rd. East in Ancaster where the unidentified woman was found by a citizen.
Paramedics transported the woman to hospital before she died.
Detectives have arrested and charged a man with failing to provide the necessities of life.
Investigators say the man and woman were known to each other.

The identity of the individuals involved will not be released. Police are still working to notify the next of kin.
The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are now investigating.
Police are looking to speak to the driver of a dark Ford pick-up truck who was traveling on Kitty Murray Lane at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday and may have witnessed an altercation between the man and woman.
Multiple roads in the area were closed as police investigated, but they have since reopened.
Anyone who was in the area from 4 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday and residents with video surveillance of the area is asked to contact Det. Frank De Vuono at 905-546-3827.
