Man charged in connection with stabbing at a Port Colborne home

One man has been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing of a 60-year-old man at a home in Port Colborne on Saturday.

Officers were called to a home in the area of Kinnear St. near Davis St. for reports of a stabbing around 11:06 p.m. Responders arrived on scene to find a 60-year-old man suffering from serious stab wounds.

The victim was transported to hospital where he continues to recover from his injuries.

Investigation has determined that a verbal argument escalated to violence, resulting in the stabbing.

On Monday, investigators arrested and charged 38-year-old Brandon Michael Taylor of Port Colborne. He faces charges of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Niagara police say that Taylor and the victim were known to each other and no further charges are expected.

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday.
