Man charged in 2006 Hamilton murder

Hamilton Police have laid a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of a Hamilton man more than five years ago.

James Surette, 47, died of stab wounds in June of 2006.

His body was found lying on the sidewalk on Ferguson Street near Cannon Street.

Surette was seen walking with another man shortly before the murder.

Scott Patrick Keels, 34, was arrested in Toronto on Thursday.

Hamilton police continue to investigate in the case, and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
