Man charged after hit and run

A man has been charged after a hit and run in Hamilton on Saturday.

It happened around 4 AM on Carrick Avenue.

Police say a car ran into a man in his twenties and then took off.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit was at the scene Saturday investigating the incident.

The victim was said to be fighting for his life in hospital but police say he has now stabilized.

Neither the name of the victim nor the man facing charges have been released.
