Man charged after car slams into Waterloo police headquarters
A 37-year-old man is custody after driving his van into Waterloo police headquarters Sunday morning.
Police are investigating, but say it appears the man intentionally drove his vehicle through the front doors of the station, and continued on for about 30 metres before coming to a stop.
No one inside the police headquarters was hurt.
Initial reports say the driver, Bryan Welfred of Tavistock, was not injured either.
Welfred faces charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mischief endangering life.
Anyone who does not have an existing appointment at the Waterloo police headquarters is asked to avoid the station until at least Wednesday.
