Police investigate violent home invasion in Stoney Creek

Detectives are investigating a violent home invasion in Stoney Creek after three suspects forced their way inside and demanded a storage safe.

Hamilton police and paramedics were called to a home on First St. N., near Lake Dr. and Queenston Rd, around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The suspects assaulted one of the victims with a metal bar and stole a safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was taken to hospital for minor injuries.

All of the suspects have been described as men who had their faces covered and wearing gloves.

The canine unit was also called in to search the scene but were unable to locate the suspects.

Detectives believe this was a targeted attack.
