Man arrested in suspicious fires in Welland: Niagara Police

Niagara Police have arrested a man in connection with a serious of suspicious fires in Welland.
Firefighters and emergency crews have responded to 15 calls for fires across the city since mid-June.
Investigators say they believe the fires were deliberately set.
The geographic location of these fires is within a few kilometres of the downtown core of our community, where many complex buildings exist,” said Deputy Chief Adam Eckhart of Welland Fire Services.
“There is high potential for a fire in these areas to be catastrophic to local businesses and many vulnerable people living in the area.”
Shane Greenwood, 33, has been arrested and charged with two counts of arson and breach of probation.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
