Man arrested in ongoing fraud investigation in Niagara region

Niagara police believe there are more victims in an ongoing fraud investigation involving Gehres Windows and Doors.

Police began their probe into the company in November 2020.

Detectives say the offences involved a man accepting construction jobs to replace windows and doors in the Niagara region. They say he would take money for the service but wouldn’t do the work.

Daniel Gehres, 63, was arrested last Thursday. He’s charged with four counts of fraud under $5,000 and two counts of fraud over $5,000.

According to police, six victims were identified but they say they believe there are more victims.
