Man arrested for attempted murder in Corktown Park

Hamilton Police have made an arrest in an attempted murder at Corktown Park.

A 22-year-old woman was walking through the park around 4 a.m. Friday when she was attacked.

She had been stabbed several times on her upper body.

Police released images of a person of interest in the case.

Meanwhile, officers were called to a purse-snatching in the area of John St. S and Hunter St. around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Police say he pulled a knife on witnesses who chased after him.

Officers recognized him from the images released earlier.

Calvin David Horvat, 30, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
