Man arrested in connection with shooting in Welland on Monday

Niagara police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Welland.

Police were called to a shooting in the area of Lincoln St. and Prince Charles Dr. just before 10 p.m. on Monday.

They say two men, a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old, were involved in an altercation and the 24-year-old was shot. The 22-year-old fled the scene.

According to police, the victim had minor injuries.

Police arrested Montana Noonan, 22, on Wednesday. He’s been charged with assault with a weapon.
