Man arrested in armed robbery at St. Catharines gas station

Niagara police have arrested a 32-year-old man following an armed robbery at a gas station in St. Catharines.

It happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday at the Regional Variety and Gas on St. Paul St. West.

Police say a man entered the store with a firearm and demanded cash and lottery tickets from staff.

The thief fled the scene after getting into the passenger side of a blue sedan.

Investigators say no one was physically injured during the robbery.

Detectives have arrested Andrew Windsor, of no fixed address. He has been charged with robbery, disguised with intent, pointing a firearm, carry concealed weapon, fail to comply with probation order, and two counts of possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000.
