Man arrested after teen girl sexually assaulted at Pen Centre

Niagara regional police arrested a man Tuesday whom allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl at Niagara Pen Centre Sunday afternoon.

Officers say they received a report Monday of a sexual assault complaint involving a 14-year-old girl.

Detectives say an initial investigation determined that the girl was in the food court area in Pen Centre Sunday at around 4 p.m. before an unknown man walked up and allegedly sexually assaulting her before leaving the area.

Investigators say they identified a suspect and determined the suspect was also alleged to have been following other teenaged girls in the shopping centre earlier on Oct. 10.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Brady Normand Burke of no fixed address in St. Catharines on Tuesday, and charged him with sexual assault and sexual interference offences.

Burke was held in custody for a video bail hearing to a St. Catharines courthouse Wednesday.

Niagara police have released Burke’s photo in the interest of public safety, and to help identify other potential victims or witnesses.
