Man armed with butcher’s knife in Hamilton park

On May 19, just after 8:00pm, Hamilton Police began receiving calls of a man that was seen holding a large butcher’s knife and was making statements about harming someone as he entered JC Beemer Park in the area of Victoria Avenue North and Wilson Street.

The man began waving the knife around causing a number of people including small with children to run out of the park.

The man attempted to leave the area when he was told that the police were contacted.

Police stopped the man in alley way next to the park and arrested him without incident or injury.

Police officers seized the knife still in his possession.

Hamilton police have arrested 19 year old, Dwayne Anthony Jr. Willson and charged him with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and fail to comply probation.
