Man accused of killing Hamilton teacher back in court today

Shane Shakeshaft appeared by video this afternoon at the John Sopinka Courthouse. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jenna Gazzola. They both lived on the ninth floor of an apartment building on Hamilton’s Forest Avenue.

Police say there was no sign of any relationship between the two, beyond being neighbours. 34-year old Gazzola was a teacher at St. Charles adult and continuing education in Hamilton. Shakeshaft will be back in court on May 17.
