A 66-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Burlington.

Halton police say a pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Burlington.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. on Lakeshore Rd. near Goodram Rd. on Tuesday.

Police say the 66-year-old man was transported to Joseph Brant Hospital for emergency treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.

Police are asking any potential witnesses to the collision to contact 905-825-4747, ext. 5065.
