Man, 23, injured in targeted shooting in Brantford: police

Police are investigating after an early morning shooting in downtown Brantford on Wednesday.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots in an alleyway behind a Dalhousie St. complex near Queen and King streets around 4:30 a.m.
Around the same time, police received a 911 call about a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body at a different location.
Officers and paramedics located the man and transported him to hospital.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the two incidents are associated to each other,” said police in a news release.
The Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation. Detectives believe this was a targeted incident.
