Man, 23, charged in abduction, sexual assault of woman: Niagara police

Niagara police have arrested and charged a 23-year-old man in connection with the abduction and sexual assault of a woman Tuesday night.
Investigators said a woman in her 20s was walking in the area of Drummond Rd. near Highway 420 around 7:30 p.m. when an unknown man who had been driving a pickup truck approached her.
He then forced her into the truck and took her to an unknown area, possibly in Chippawa.
Police said she was sexually assaulted and suffered facial injuries.
The woman was able to escape on foot. She waved down a passing male motorist who brought her to a safe place near Frederica St. in Niagara Falls.
Paramedics then brought her to a local hospital.
Police said they identified the male suspect Thursday and obtained the truck used during the assault.
Richard McFarlen Morrow of Niagara Falls is facing eight charges, including sexual assault, kidnapping and forcible confinement, among others.
Morrow was scheduled to appear in a St. Catharines court Thursday.
Detectives said they are continuing to look for the male motorist driving a white pickup truck who helped the woman following the assault.
