Hamilton police have charged a second person in the 2016 baseball bat beating of a Hamilton teen.

Police arrested an 18-year-old Hamilton man on Saturday in connection with the attack on 15-year-old Noah Rabbani on November 27, 2016.

Police say two men in a vehicle pulled up beside Rabbani around midnight. The men allegedly got out of their car, beat the boy repeatedly with a baseball bat and stole his backpack.

Rabbani suffered a fractured skull, brain swelling, memory loss and extensive injuries to his jaw, spine and limbs.

The arrest comes four months after police charged another man in the attack. On December 7, 2016, police arrested Matthew Hribar, 18, as part of an investigation into violent crimes dubbed Project Trail Finder.

Hribar and the 18-year-old man, who police have not identified, both face several charges including robbery and aggravated assault.
