Major Japanese newspaper calls for cancellation of Olympics

Another sign of trouble for the Tokyo Olympics.

One of the official partners of the games is joining calls for cancellation.

The Japanese national newspaper Asahi Shimbun is calling for the Tokyo Olympics to be cancelled in an editorial, saying it isn’t rational to hold them this summer.

The Games are set to open on July 23.

Despite growing opposition, there is no sign the International Olympic Committee or local organizers have any plans to pull the plug on the Games.
