Major house fire in Oakville

Flames tore through a house in Oakville early Monday morning – but a mother and son escaped, thanks to working smoke detectors.

The fire started around 2:15am in the attic of the home at 50 Miller Rd.

22 firefighters from the Oakville fire department were on scene. No one was injured.

The fire caused over $300 thousand in damage.

The cause has yet to be determined.
