Mail delivery 3 days per week?

On the heels of a hike in stamp prices and the phase-out of most door-to-door delivery, a new report is calling for even more drastic changes to keep Canada Post solvent.
Carleton University professor Ian Lee says Canada Post needs to switch to 3-day a week service for residential customers, noting another 25 percent drop in mail volume is expected in the next five years.
Lee says parcels will exceed letters by 2020 — and Canada Post needs to prepare by also franchising out all corporate-owned outlets.
Lee also says Liberal and NDP election pledges to restore home delivery don’t make sense — noting it means unequal treatment because only 32 percent of homes had it to begin with.
