Luka Magnotta pleads not guilty in first court appearance
Murder suspect Luka Magnotta has pleaded not guilty in the death and dismemberment case out of Montreal.
Magnotta appeared in court by video link, and has pledged to protect his innocence in the death of Concordia University student Jun Lin last month.
He may also request a psychiatric evaluation.
The 29-year-old returned to Montreal from Germany Monday evening aboard a military plane, after an international manhunt ended in Berlin.
He now faces numerous charges, including first degree murder, defiling a dead body and harrassing the Prime Minister.
