Love Stinks: Simcoe Humane Society launches Valentine’s Day fundraiser

If you find yourself suddenly single and in need of a pick-me-up ahead of Valentine’s Day, a new fundraiser at the Simcoe and District Humane Society might be able to help.

Anyone who has been dumped in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day knows one thing for sure: love stinks.

In an effort to raise money, the organization is offering to put your ex-lover’s name on a cat litter box for a small donation of $5.

They’re warning that all sales are final, and should you manage to smooth things over before Valentine’s Day, they won’t be taking the name off.

“But while you may not have much respect for your ex, we do have to respect their right to privacy and will only be using first names,” the organization wrote in a Facebook post.

As of Monday, the post had been shared over 500 times.
