Ontario Provincial Police say they have found the rightful winners of a $12.5 million jackpot from a 2003 Super 7 draw.

Last September police announced that a family of three had been charged with stealing the jackpot. The father and son worked at a Burlington convenience store where investigators allege they stole free play tickets from lottery customers.

One of those tickets was the jackpot winner in a 2003 draw. Police say the father gave the ticket to his daughter to cash. When Ontario’s Lottery and Gaming Corporation set out to find the true winners, hundreds of people came forward. The OPP says it has now found seven people with rightful claims to the prize.
