Lockdown, hold-and-secures at three Brantford schools lifted after armed man reported

A lockdown at one school and a hold-and-secure at two other schools in Brantford have been lifted following an investigation into a man with a firearm nearby Wednesday.
Brantford police received a report of an armed man in the area of Tecumseh Street and Salisbury Avenue around 2 p.m.
As a precaution, Princess Elizabeth Public School was placed in a lockdown, while Bellview Public School and Madonna Della Libera Catholic Elementary School were placed in a hold-and-secure.
“A thorough search was conducted, including the use of drone technology,” police wrote in a post on X.
UPDATE: Please be advised that the precautionary hold and secure at Bellview School and Madonna Della Libera & the precautionary lockdown at Princess Elizabeth have all been lifted. Police will remain in the area to investigate a weapons related call for service.

No arrests have been made and no charges have been laid at this time.
The lockdown and hold-and-secures were lifted shortly before 3:30 p.m.
Brantford police are continuing to investigate.
