Members of the Ontario cabinet met Wednesday night to work out final details of a province-wide lockdown – expected to be announced later today.  The 28-day lockdown is being termed an ‘emergency brake’ to counter a rapid rise in the number of Covid-19 cases being reported daily and a pending crisis in Ontario’s intensive care units which are nearing capacity.  The four-week lockdown means indoor dining at restaurants will be curtailed and services such as hair salons and gyms will be closed.  Sources tell CHCH News that schools are expected to remain open and essential retail outlets will be limited to 50% capacity.  Details of the lockdown will come at a news conference at 1:30 pm.
