Local SPCA changing operations in wake of COVID-19

Canadian pet shelters are feeling the pinch as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many have placed adoptions on hold and humane society offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto are closed.
The Hamilton Burlington SPCA is doing adoptions by appointment only.
All clients with appointments will be screened to ensure they are healthy to be on site.
That will be the case until resources and supplies are no longer available or the situation changes.
Its public events and activities are suspended through the end of April.
That includes Paint Your Pet Night, Dog Obedience Sessions and its volunteer celebration dinner.
