Local elementary school rewarded for going green

Students at Saint Marguerite d’Youville Catholic elementary school were rewarded for their green efforts this morning.

During an assembly, the students found out the school won $25 000 worth of technology from Staples.

The school was selected as part of the Staples’ annual superpower your school contest for its outstanding sustainability efforts and environmental initiatives .

Saint Marguerite’s is one of ten schools out of the nearly 630 which entered the contest to receive the prize. The school hasn’t decided how it plans on spending its winnings just yet.
