More of Lisi documents released

We’re also getting a more detailed look at the allegations in the lengthy court document released last month involving surveillance of the Mayor. Some of the details in the original court document were blacked out. But the newly released portions reveal allegations against the Mayor which cast more doubt about his ability to remain in office. Some are shocking and our Cindy Csordas has more about the document.
Well the more than five hundred page long document is right here. In it, there are allegations that Mayor Rob Ford is a drug user, alcoholic and hired prostitutes.
In the document police interviewed witnesses and obtained video surveillance of Mayor Rob Ford allegedly participating in actions that were either against the law or morally wrong. Toronto city staff members say Rob Ford had asked them to buy him alcohol. They also say Ford drank half of a forty ouncer of liquer then got in his vehicle and drove away. There are allegations that the Mayor and a hired prostitute were heard, not seen but heard snorting cocaine in the back room of the Bier Market in Toronto. Witnesses also say Ford had a hired prostitute in his office on St. Patricks Day of last year. The document says one staff member told police the Mayor was very drunk that day and that he saw the Mayor take oxycontin, a prescription painkiller. The document says former staffer Mark Towhey was fired for trying to give the Mayor advice about seeking help for drugs and alcohol abuse. All this information became known to police because of the allegations of the crack video with the Mayor in it and his alleged drug dealings with Alexander Lisi.
A judge ruled this document should be made public that there is no basis for the portions released Wednesday to remain sealed. And we should stress that these allegations are concerns of former staffers and have not been proven in court.
