Limousine Safety

New and disturbing information about the New York limo crash that killed 20 people over the weekend. Authorities say the limo involved failed a state inspection and should not have been on the roads.

Two pairs of newlyweds, four sisters from one family and two brothers were tragically lost in the deadliest U.S. crash in nearly a decade.

The limo carrying friends headed to a birthday party, blew through an intersection, crashing into the woods, killing everyone on board and two pedestrians in its path.

Monday, officials say the driver did not have the right driver’s licence and that the stretch limo itself failed a state driving test.

“That vehicle was inspected by the New York state department of transportation last month and failed inspection and was not supposed to be on the road.” Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York.

In Canada it is law to wear a seat belt if you are out driving, in limo’s and modified cars they have a seat belt for every seat but it’s your responsibility as the passenger to make sure you have it on.

But the rules are different in the United States. There are seat belts in the back but you’re not required to wear them.
