Lefevour earns CFL recognition

This was a no-brainer for the CFL stars of the week selection panel. Tiger-Cats quarterback Dan Lefevour has been named the CFL’s Offensive Player of the Week. The 27-year old Illinois native receiving the honour after a sensational performance in his first career start in the CFL. Lefevour generated 470 yards of offense in leading the Ticats to their first win of the season, 33-23 over the Ottawa Redblacks on Saturday night. Lefevour completed 21 of 30 passes for 361 yards and one td and rushed for 109 yards and another td. He’s just the 7th Ticat quarterback to rush for 100 yards or more. The last one was Casey Printers. Lefevour, like every quarterback should, knows who to thank.
“We were clicking as an offence as a whole. Without the offensive line doing their job, I don’t have a chance. I’ve said this before, it’s kind of a thankless job they have. Because of that, we’re put in a position to make plays. We had 12 guys clicking on a lot of plays so that’s why the thing is going the way it is right now.”
