‘Leave now, or lose your truck’ Ontario Liberals call on Doug Ford to send message to truckers in Ottawa

Ontario Liberal leader Steven Del Duca is calling on Doug Ford’s Conservatives to send a message to occupiers in Ottawa, “leave now, or risk losing your truck.”

“The residents of Ottawa are victims of a dangerous antivax mob holding their city hostage,” said Del Duca in a statement. “It has gone far beyond what can be considered a protest and the occupation must be dealt with using strong action.”

This comes as Ottawa declared a state of emergency as the trucker protest continues.

Ontario Liberals previously called on premier Ford to pass Ottawa South MPP John Fraser’s Bill 2 to create safe zones around hospitals and schools and force organizers to reimburse millions of dollars in extra policing costs during the occupation.

“Leave now or you will lose your truck is the message our Premier should be sending,” said Del Duca. “Doug Ford needs to come out today and announce a strong provincial response to end this occupation swiftly.”

The occupation is currently in its eleventh day.
