LCBO promoting Greek wines

Toronto’s Danforth neighbourhood is known for its greek flavour in fact you can find just about any specialty item from Greece that you want there except for one particular product: wine.

A new, specialty wine shop will open may 25th, in the LCBO Danforth store featuring roughly 90 offerings from Greece.

But not everyone is ready to join the celebrations.

Sue Ann Staff, who owns a small, boutique winery in Jordan is fighting to gain a better foothold in a very competitive wine market. She’s not opposed to the LCBO specialty stores, she just wants an equal opportunity.

Recent budget promises by Premier Kathleen Wynne may have opened some new doors for craft breweries in the province but wine producers were not so lucky.
