Lawnmower Tragedy

A 3-year-old Pelham boy is clinging to life after he was run over by a lawnmower. The boy’s father was cutting the lawn when he accidentally reversed over his son. Emergency crews were called to Centre Street in the town of Pelham just after 9 Thursday night.

The father thought his 3-year-old son was inside the house when he was cutting the front lawn of his family home. He didn’t know the toddler had come back outside and was following behind the mower. Their neighbour, an off duty Hamilton Paramedic Supervisor, was one of the first people to help stablize the young boy before local paramedics and firefighters arrived.

The boy was taken to hospital and then airlifted to a Toronto hospital and is in critical, but stable condition. Police see this incident as an accident and wont be charging the father.
