Lac~Megantic costs soar

In Quebec, the town of Lac Megantic says the costs of cleaning up the rail disaster is about double the previous estimates.
The town now says it could cost about $8 million to clean up the site of the deadly derailment that claimed 47 lives earlier this month. The town is asking the rail company involved to cover the cost. It says a legal notice has been sent to the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic railway demanding payment and it’s looking for a response in the next 24 hours.
