Labour marks May Day in Hamilton

A May Day march took place in downtown Hamilton this afternoon.

Demonstrators in the anti-capitalist march congregated at the MacNab Street bus terminal at King Street, displaying signs and holding a rally. A police presence was on hand to make sure the rally remained peaceful and to keep the demonstrators safe from the traffic on King.

May Day, or International Workers’ Day, is a celebration of the international labour movement and is a national holiday in 80 countries.
