Labour Day: what’s open and closed

Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in our area for Labour Day Monday.

CLOSED:

• Adminstrative offices
• Sexual health clinics
• Public health
• Child care centres
• Banks
• Recreation centres
• Most grocery stores
• LCBO stores
• Hamilton Civic Museum
• Hamilton Farmers’ Market (Sunday and Monday)

OPEN: 

• Some beer store locations
• Major shopping centres
• Most movie theatres
• Select outdoor pools in Hamilton and Burlington
• Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
• St. Catharines Museum
• Welland Canals Centre
• Most Niagara Falls attractions

Garbage collection

There will be no green cart, recycling, or garbage collection in Hamilton or Burlington. Pick-up will be one day later.

Niagara region garbage, recycling, and organics collection will not be affected by the holiday.

Transit

HSR, DARTS, and Burlington Transit be operating on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

Niagara Falls and St. Catharines buses will also be operating with reduced holiday service on a Sunday schedule.

Niagara Region transit will not be operating on the holiday.

Outdoor pools

Hamilton: Birge Outdoor Pool, Ancaster Lions Outdoor Pool, Coronation Outdoor Pool, Green Acres Outdoor Pool, Inch Park Outdoor Pool, and Walker Park Outdoor Pool will be operating on a regular schedule.

COVID-19 testing

The Dave Andreychuk COVID-19 drive-thru testing centre is closed on Monday.
