Labour Day weekend fun: apple picking, spice fest, and more await in the area

If you decide to stick around the area this Labour Day weekend, there are lots to do. From picking apples to sampling Indian food, there is something for everyone this weekend.
If you like farms and fresh air, the Fall Festival at Brantwood Farms is the place to be this weekend. There are games, animals, pumpkin bowling, apple slingshots, and apple picking.
You can also pick your own fresh flowers. They also have workshops on flower arranging every Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The festival runs every weekend through October. It opens at 10 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m. It’s located at 251 Powerline Rd. and costs $14 for admission.

From apples to Indian music, and lots of food. Spicy food that is, the first-ever spice festival is being held at Pier 4 Park. it starts at 2 p.m. and goes on until 11 p.m on Sunday.
And if being outdoors is not your thing, there is another Indian festival happening indoors at the Hamilton Convention Center.
The Hungrystan event features food, clothing, and more. It’s free to attend and goes from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday.
There’s plenty to do this weekend in the area, just pack your patience because there may be lines and heavy traffic.
