Kitchener man charged with human-trafficking offences in Hamilton

Hamilton police have charged a 32-year-old man from Kitchener with a slew of human-trafficking offences.
Officers began looking into the man this week but police didn’t share what prompted the investigation.
The name of the accused was also not released by police to protect the identity of the victim.
The 32-year-old is facing a number of charges including trafficking in persons, forcible confinement, prohibited firearm – loaded/unloaded and more.
Police say in many cases, victims are hesitant to report human trafficking due to manipulation, threats from traffickers, language barriers or they may not even realize that they are victims of human trafficking.
Anyone who is a victim or knows someone that is being trafficked is encouraged to contact police at 905-546-4925.
