Kids, families enjoy one last day of summer fun

We are now in the final hours of summer vacation for students. Tomorrow morning, it’s back to school.

It was a busy day and kids were trying to fit in as many activities as they could before the end of summer.

the kids called the shots with their last day out in the sun before heading to the classroom tomorrow.

“I’m going on a boat with my friends and family.”

“Riding our bikes.”

“Hanging out with my friends and going boating.”

“I went for a bike ride and got some ice cream.”

It was a busy day at Bayfront but school was in the back of everyone’s mind.

“I don’t really know if I’m excited or nervous or anything.”

“Not really excited for school. I just don’t really like school.”

The parents have a different opinion.

“It’s very exciting for the kids to be going back to school. We have four of them so it will give mommy and daddy a little bit more time.”

“We’re actually really excited. It’s our daughters first year so my wife will be home without any kids.”

“While other kids spent their last day of summer at the park, others came to the outlet collection at Niagara to do some last minute back to school shopping”

“I got two pairs of socks like this for back to school.”

“Clothes, I need a pencil case.”

Some shoppers were on the move trying to get everything their kids need before they get on the big yellow bus tomorrow. Others took a break in the sun next to the popsicle stand. The kids are counting down the hours before they are back in the classroom.

“School can be fun. I mean, it can also be boring, but you have to just face it.”

A few young ladies who will be heading to school for the first time are looking forward to all the fun.

“I have a play center at my school so I can play with my teacher when she tells me that its play time.”

“That I get to go to school and have some lunch.”

“That we go in the drum center. It’s a place where we play”

And in just a matter of hours all the children will be on their way to a new school year.

It’s a beautiful night her at Pier 8 and the kids and their families are taking in every last minute of their summer vacation In just a matter of a couple of hours they’ll be heading to bed and waking up early to another school year.
