Kia Nurse heading to UConn

Hamilton’s Kia Nurse is off to “UConn.”  And I don’t mean the Yukon that has Whitehorse as a capital.   Nurse, a 17-year old basketball standout at St. Thomas More,  and a member of Canada’s national senior women’s team, will her sign her letter of intent to attend the University of Connecticut on an athletic scholarship.  The Huskies have won 8 NCAA championships under coach Geno Auriemma and they’re the defending champions. Kia will be signing on Tuesday.  UConn is in the future,  but of immediate concern is defending the OFSAA “Quad A” championship later this week.
