Kenny Rogers dies at 81

Kenny Rogers has died at 81. He died Friday night from natural causes at home while in
hospice care.  He was surrounded by his family. The popular singer/songwriter had 24 number one hits and is perhaps best known for ‘The Gambler’ that was eventually made into a movie.  Kenny Riogers who first appeared on the music scene in 1969 was a Canadian fan favourite. He repeatedly played to sold out audiences in Hamilton at what was then called Hamilton Place.  Kenny Rogers was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013 and retired from touring in 2018 citing health concerns.
