Kapp reacts to melee with Mosca

Former CFL player Joe Kapp is calling the scrap he had with Angelo Mosca on Grey Cup weekend unfortunate.

The former B.C. Lions quarterback says he was trying to offer Mosca an olive branch on stage, but it eventually erupted into a physical altercation.

“I don’t feel good about any kind of altercation and encounter, nobody can feel good about that type of encounter. The world needs people to get along and I made that effort at the celebration.”

Kapp says he’s offered no apology to Mosca, and Mosca hasn’t offered an apology to him. He doesn’t expect to meet with Mosca to talk about what happened either.

Yesterday CHCH News spoke to Mosca — and he said Kapp has always held a grudge over a 1963 Grey Cup incident when Mosca knocked out Lions quarterback Willie Fleming. The Tiger-Cats went on to win.
