Judge rejects plea bid at Firgan-Hewie murder trial
The trial in the case of a 13-year old girl violently stabbed to death in Brampton four years ago started today.
The man charged tried to plead guilty to a lesser charge today – but the judge turned him down and he’s still on trial for first degree murder. Lisa Hepfner reports the judge told the jury they wouldn’t be human if they didn’t feel revulsion at the facts of the case, but they will still have to dispassionately decide if Alex Firgan-Hewie’s murder was premeditated.
