A NASA spacecraft is now in orbit around Jupiter after a nearly five-year, 2.8-billion-kilometre journey to the gas giant.
The solar-powered Juno spacecraft is now circling Jupiter on a mission to map the giant planet from the inside out. The last leg of its journey was a highly choreographed maneuver that slowed the craft down enough to enter orbit. The precise engine burn had to be pulled off without the help of ground controllers, as radio signals take nearly an hour to reach the gas giant.
