Journalists complain about Sochi accommodations

After weeks of reports about security concerns and unfinished hotel rooms, we’re now hearing first hand from journalists in Sochi about how they’re finding their stay.

If you’ve been following the games, you’ve no doubt heard by now some members of the media had arrived to sub-par accommodations.

There have been complaints on social media about yellow water, twin toilets and missing door knobs. There is even a Twitter page called “Sochi Problems” poking fun at the situation.

Some Canadian Press reporters say their experiences haven’t been all that bad, and are posting tours of their hotel rooms online. Their complaints include thin walls and missing shower heads.

Donna Spencer from the Canadian Press says, “I can hear everything… And also the wine bar right below my window where there is a party every night.”

Neil Davidson from the Canadian Press doesn’t have a showerhead in his room, and says, “I kind of have to lay towels down on the ground because when I’m showering and shampooing my hair the water is going up on my toilet and gets the floor all wet.”
