Jimson weed may be factor in crash

A 14 year old from Port Colborne, who police think consumed jimson weed, has been charged after a car crash.

Niagara police say he stole the car, lost control of it, and then hit a pole and a tree.

The teen has been charged with theft and dangerous driving.

Tests suggest he ate jimson weed, a toxic plant that carries a high rate of overdose, hospitalization and has frequently resulted in fatalities.
