It’s a small gesture with a heart warming impact. On Thursday, Canadians from coast to coast wore sports jerseys or green and yellow to honour the Humboldt Broncos.

It was a sea of bright colours at St. Thomas More High School. It didn’t matter what teams jersey you wear, today everyone was a Humboldt Bronco.

Both the Public and Catholic School Boards in Hamilton and Niagara joined Jersey Day. Its an initiative that was started by hockey moms in British Colombia who wanted to honour the 16 people who died in the bus crash, and the 13 others who were injured.

But Jersey Day wasn’t for students only. Many in downtown Hamilton have decided to show their support.
