Jenna Gazzola funeral

The funeral for Jenna Gazzola was held today. The 34-year old was found murdered in her Hamilton apartment 10 days ago. It was a very emotional day as over 900 people including family members, friends, colleagues, politicians and police officers packed the church to pay their respects to Jenna.
Jenna was loved by so many in both Hamilton and Guelph where she grew up. She is the daughter of long time Guelph police officer Marino Gazzola. Members of his platoon filled the last two pews of the church.
“Members who are here have come on their own. Marino has been a member of the Guelph police for 40 years and is a very involved member of our community it’s out of respect for the family that our members have come here.” Jeff Deruyter, Guelph police chief.
Inside the service Jenna was described as a bright and beautiful girl from the moment she arrived with an infectious smile, a brilliant wit and a sparkling sense of humour. Before her tragic death, Jenna was a teacher at St.Charles Adult and Continuing Education centre in Hamilton.
The 34 year old was found dead in her Forest avenue apartment. 27 year old Shane Shakeshaft who lives a few doors down from her unit on the 9th floor has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in connection with her death.
